#1 From Not-So-Minted Beginnings

Hello and welcome to the humble beginnings of my series, Hustle Young, Retire Early (HYRE). Join me on this journey to achieve what many people strive for: Financial Independence, and One. Million. Dollars.

Now I know what you may be thinking. How could I possibly reach financial independence and become a millionaire when I’m buried in all of this debt?

It won’t be easy, but we’ll never get there if we don’t start somewhere. So why not at least give it a shot?

Doesn’t one million dollars sound just minty fresh?? I think so too. I want to wake up one morning and check my Personal Capital app to see $1,000,000 in the account. 6 whole zeroes. Who wouldn’t want that? (except for the billionaires out there maybe, they would probably be pretty upset if they woke up with only a million in their account one day….).

But for the rest of us normal people, a million buckaroonies serves as a wonderful financial benchmark to aim for.

That’s why I’ve gathered you all here today on this fine day!

I want you to embark on this journey of HYRE with me to reach financial independence. Life is too short to let our financial burdens hold us down by creating stress in our lives and uncertainty in our futures.

I am currently in a beautiful place in my life. I’m old enough to have a big-boy job making a salary, but young enough to where if I start saving and investing now, compound interest will prove to be quite fruitful for me down the road.

Ah, compound interest.

There are plenty of others out there in the exact same situation as me where you’re just not sure what to do about your financial situation. Maybe you’re buried in debt and can’t seem to stop spending money, or you’re fresh out of college and want some direction in the art of budgeting.

Well good news for you! We are all in this together, and we WILL make it to the promise-land!

Just always remember, you are never too old to start investing and saving for retirement. On the flip-side, you are also never too young. If you’re here reading this and you’re in high school, or even still in college, you will be in GREAT shape.

In the next post, I introduce myself so you all can get to know me a little better, and hopefully, some of you guys will join me in my quest to become a millionaire!

Want to stay up to date on everything? Sign up for the weekly Minty Fresh Newsletter so you don’t miss a thing! You’ll even receive a free interactive budgeting template!

  1. Love this! It’s so true that you cannot start too young when it comes to working the magic of compound interest. Congratulations on committing to your million dollar journey.
